World’s Largest Panorama Picture – (printing-size of 105 x 35 meter)

Author: The final step of converting the 102 GB raw data into a single image was undertaken by a computer with a main memory cache of 48 GB, 16 cores and 4.5 TB of hard disk space, and it took 94 hours to complete the stitching process.
They’ve put together a Flash-based viewer that allows you to move through the picture, zoom in to amazing detail levels. Just click on the image to play with it. I guarantee you’ll spend quite a few minute playing with it.
The photo was taken on the roof of the building “Haus der Presse” (House of Press) and starts at the left side with the Ostragehege, in Dresden. You can see the Congress Center and the Maritim Hotel on the right.
At the center is the city of Dresden with the renowned Semperoper (back view), the castle and the Church of Our Lady. In the background is the television tower and you can see the outlines of the Saxon Switzerland. On the far right part you can see the south of Dresden.
