I know stem cells and umbilical cords are a not a common subject on this blog but I believe it is a very interesting and mind-opening subject to show the impact of Internet (and social networks, in particular) on people all around the world.

For those unfamiliar with stem cells research, let it suffice to say that stem cells (found in several places, including newborn’s umbilical cords) have shown they’re the way of the future to treat and cure health disorders and diseases as disparate as Alzheimer’s and osteoporosis.

However, stem cell research isn’t too advanced yet and hence, it is a very good idea to save stem cells now (usually from the umbilical cord’s blood, that it’s thrown after the baby is born) at places like Cryo-Cell because it may help treat future diseases, medical conditions, and other disorders currently being researched.
