Tips on Gas Saving Devices

Our old (or even new) car isn’t as dependable as it should be anymore. Sure, everything works properly and it seems to be running fine, but with the price of gas going past $130 per barrel there is no guarantee that your car will keep running. It is very hard to drive your properly working vehicle when you cannot afford gas.

Not to worry though! Industry and small businesses everywhere have jumped at the opportunity to provide you with alternatives. Here they are.

Hybrid Cars. Hybrid cars run on a mixture of electricity and gasoline. They offer much better mileage for much less gas. There are already millions of these vehicles in the world and the market is quickly spreading. If you can afford the price, and do not mind a smaller more compact car, then this option is worth looking into.

Alternative Fuel or Biofuel. Alternative fuels are being promoted worldwide at the moment. Unfortunately, this option leaves us with several of the same problems we are currently facing and even a new one.

Non-conventional Oil is extracted from tar sands and shale and is chemically identical to the oil we are currently using. This means that pollution will still be a problem.

Biofuels offer a cheap and cleaner burning alternative but unfortunately need farmland in order to expand the industry. This farmland must be taken from other farmland that is currently growing food and the last thing we need is to go from an oil shortage to a food shortage.

Fuel additives have been marketed for many years and are still offering a solution to the high price of gas. Many of these additives promise increased mileage, speed, and efficiency. For those who can afford to spend less on gas in order to spend more on additives, this option is available.
Water is one of the latest and most inventive solutions to the price of gas. Hydrogen gas has been theorized for many years as a fuel for vehicles. The biggest setback of using Hydrogen in cars is the need to store it in containers that pose a huge explosion risk. Recently it has been discovered that hydrogen can be extracted from plain water (called OxyHydrogen or HHO gas), which does not explode, and fed directly into the engine. This option offers 100 miles of travel for a quart of water.

Unfortunately cars that run on 100% water are not available at the moment, so we are left with the option of converting our current car into a water/gas hybrid. Even so, getting 50-60% more mileage on our gas would be like cutting the price in half.
